Description Herding through Main St. 1900 George Abbott, Chewelah Pioneer and his team of oxen (Tom & Jerry and Ned & Buck) on Chewelah main street just west of present highway. John Gardner stands in back of team. The first building is the Blackwood Bldg, the office of Dr. J.A. Lung, a millinary shop, Oberteries Harness Shop barber shop, store of W.W. Dickson first mayor of Chewelah, and the lower brick building is the Post Office on the corner of E. 2nd and main. the tall building is the Delva W. 3rd and main, which later was modified to a flat roof. The wood buildings have all been replaced
