Description	Construction of the Empress Hotel June, 1913 Empress Hotel and Theater/New Printing Office Construction begins on the Empress Hotel and Threater. The Chewelah Independent newspaper was also housed in the white brick building. The Old Reno Cafe and Hotel (formally the Pomeroy) may be seen in the background.
