Description Dredging the Colville River Fairbanks Steam Shovel dredging the Colville river, 1909-10. Dredge has floated through opening in bridge over the river and is removing section of railway bridge preparing to go through. South of Chewelah about 1 mile. Indian Hill in background. Old channel was straightened and hundreds of acres of land reclaimed.
